Privacy Policy

Flik is a private disposable camera for a small circle of close friends. This policy explains what Astrolab ("we", "us") collects when you use Flik, how we use it, who helps us process it, and how you can delete it. We built Flik to be intimate and private — we do not run ads, and we do not sell your data.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect the email address you sign in with. If you use Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and, where available, your name from that provider (Apple may give you a private relay email instead of your real one). You also choose a handle and a display name. Optionally, you can add a profile photo and a birthday — your birthday is used only to wish you a happy roll and is never shown to anyone.
Photos and notes (your content)
We store the photos you capture in Flik and the short notes you attach to them, so they can develop on the weekend and be shown to the friends you choose. Photos are visible only to you and the friends you share them with — there is no public feed.
Friend connections
We store who you are connected with on Flik (up to five friends) so we can build your shared wall and route your photos to the right people.
Push notification tokens
If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you alerts (for example, when your weekend roll is ready to develop). You can turn notifications off at any time in your profile or in your device settings.
Device and diagnostic information
To operate the App and keep it reliable, we may process basic technical information such as your device type, operating system, app version, and error or crash diagnostics. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and Flik does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How we use your information
- To provide Flik's core experience — capturing your weekly roll and revealing it on your shared wall.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To connect you with the friends you add.
- To send notifications you've enabled, such as reveal alerts.
- To keep Flik safe — reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, and acting on violations of our Terms.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with the law and protect our users and our service.
3. How your content is shared
Your photos and notes are shared only with the friends you choose, within your private group of up to five people. Flik has no public profiles, no discovery of strangers, and no sharing with advertisers. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers who process data for us
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Flik. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Supabase — hosts our database, handles authentication, and stores your photos. Most of your data lives here.
- Google and Apple — when you choose to sign in with them, they authenticate you. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Push notification services — Expo's push service together with the Apple Push Notification service (on iOS) and Google's messaging service (on Android) deliver the notifications you've enabled.
5. How long we keep your data, and how to delete it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, directly in the App, from Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently erases your account, your photos and notes, and your friend connections, and removes you from your friends' walls. Some information may remain in routine backups for a limited period or where we are required to keep it by law, after which it is deleted.
6. Security
We protect your data in transit with standard encryption (HTTPS) and restrict access to it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
Flik is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International data transfers
Flik is used internationally, and your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than where you live.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit much of your information in the App, delete your account at any time, and contact us for any other request. We will respond as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
